About

Cherry and Susan share a passion for fresh food, well-prepared and beautifully displayed. They have been preparing food together socially and professionally for almost two decades.


Cherry Madole

Cherry, co-owner and chef, graduated with honors from New York Citys Institute of Culinary Arts Pastry and Baking program. She worked in the pastry kitchen of Cafe Bouloud NYC. She was a pastry chef at The Champions Club in Omaha, Nebraska. In Des Moines, she worked several years as a personal chef to many wonderful families.

Christopher Bottorff-Nichols

Iowa local, Christopher Bottorff-Nichols was raised in Waterloo, working for great restaurants such as Verona and Park Place. After high school he attended culinary school at Kendall College in Chicago. He continued his education working for Dinner Lab, a pop up dinner concept company based out of New Orleans. Through Dinner Lab, he worked in many exciting cities but returned Des Moines to produce the same amazing food and expand the local culinary scene. Chef Christopher (Chip) managed the kitchen at Proof restaurant in Des Moines from 2014 through 2016. Chris has made himself at home bringing his fabulous flair and skill to the table.

Susan Madorsky

Susan, co-owner and chef, is a native of Cleveland, Ohio. She began her culinary career in Portland, Oregon. She trained under Jim Dodge at The Stanford Court in San Francisco, California. She was the assistant pastry chef at The Willard Hotel in Washington, DC and the pastry chef at The Chevy Chase Club in Chevy Chase, Maryland. Since living in Iowa she has been an adjunct instructor of Advanced Baking in the DMACC Culinary Program.

Kelsey McCreight Williamson

Kelsey is a Des Moines native and Roosevelt High School graduate. She attended the University of Minnesota,  then pursued her passion for culinary arts at the Arts Institute International.

After working the line and running the pastry program at notable restaurants in Minneapolis and Milwaukee, Kelsey became an apprentice once again to learn bread baking under Steve Horton at Rustica Cafe. She worked with Gavin Kaysen and Diane Moua (Soignée Hospitality) at Spoon and Stable in Minneapolis, then created and managed the bread program at Bellecour in Wayzata. Des Moines is so lucky to have her return home for family and community. Kelsey has been the pastry chef at The Tangerine Food Company since Autumn 2018.
